Beaches

The nearest beach is a 10 minute drive away at Porto Alabe, which is fairly quiet outside mid July to the end of August when traditionally mainland Italy flocks to Sardinia. Porto Alabe is quite self contained and has two bars and a mini market open all year.

Bosa beach

The largest beach is in Bosa Marina which is a comfortable 15 minutes drive away from Magomadas. This is our favourite as it has some good facilities nearby, such as the beachside cafes, equipment to hire for the very large beach and watersports. It also has a good number of shops, bars and restaurants in the streets away from the beach. From the 2 marinas it is possible to hire boats, take fishing and diving trips and make the journey up river to get a different view of Bosa, from the water, to the Romanesque Church of St Peter. There is also a small train station from which a tourist train runs trips into the countryside and back in the high season.

Bosa Marina, like Porto Alabe, is only particularly busy in the high season. In May, June and September when temperatures will still be in the high 20s at least, one can normally park within a hundred yards or so of the sea at any time of the day. July and August are busier but parking is usually achievable and free.
